Architect and designer ANDREA BRANZI was born in Florence. He studied architecture in his hometown and later moved to Milan where he lives today. Until 1974, he was part of ARCHIZOOM, the first internationally renowned avant-garde design group. Since 1972, Branzi has been involved in design and the theoretical problems of New Design. He has participated in several Triennale exhibitions in Milan and Biennale exhibitions in Venice. He has also had exhibitions in a number of museums around the world. In 1987, Branzi was awarded the Special Golden Compass for his global work as a designer and theorist. He won second prize in the International Competition for idea for the new West Waterfront in New York City. Branzi’s designs for Cassina are among his most innovative. The Revers chair is one of his more well-known and innovative achievements.
