MICHELE DE LUCCHI was born in 1951, and received his degree from the College of Architecture in Florence . Established “Cavart”, the group which played the leading role in Radical Architecture while in college. De Lucchi was a design consultant for Olivetti Synthesis at Massa in 1979. He designed the office furniture system for automation, “Icarus”, jointly with Ettore Sottsass Jr. in 1982. With Sottsass, undertook the image and furnishings for Fiorucci Showrooms in Italy and Europe . He participated in the Triennale exhibitions in 1979 and 1983. De Lucchi is also a leading member of the design group, Memphis . He has designed for ACME since 1985.
